An Insight Into Our Business

Nicole and Dana opened Roots Hair Studio in August, 2019. They met in cosmetology school at Jean Madeline in South Philadelphia. Nicole was from Ridley and Dana from Springfield, quickly became great friends and started their hair journey. Nicole and Dana have worked together over the last 20 years and have developed amazing relationships with their clients.

In August 2019, they decided they were ready to take the jump and open their own studio. “We named our studio Roots because we felt we were each other’s roots in this business, we started together.” In the first 7 months of opening their doors, the COVID 19 Pandemic hit. “Closing for 3 months was extremely difficult being so new, but when we reopened we worked extra hard and continued to grow.” Roots Hair Studio became an amazing, warm, hometown salon. In their first 3 years they outgrew the space and needed to go bigger.

In January 2022, Nicole and Dana relocated to across the street at 234 Milmont Avenue, Milmont Park, and Roots Hair Salon began. They expanded their team and are so happy to be able to offer many new services. “Our dream was to open a salon where everyone felt comfortable and wanted to come in, hang out, and have all of their beauty needs met. This is the place!! We are happy to have you, come check us out!!"
